The Fire Works is located in the character filled Rockwood Sprinkler Factory on Harlow Street in Worcester, MA with easy access from Rt. 290. It’s a big old building with an eclectic mix of artists and small businesses.

Our studio is a home for people with clay experience – from those making ceramics a full time endeavor, to hobbyists who are fascinated with the mud and play in it every chance they get. There are folks who have been on hiatus from clay and are looking to get back in it, as well as people who have taken pottery classes and now want to explore on their own. We encourage any and all members to continue their formal education when they need it, but realize that here at The Fire Works is the place for doing. We offer a community atmosphere where there is a lot of give and take, with informal and occasionally formal discussion groups possible.

STUDIO OPTIONS We have three different options for people wishing to use our studio facility. Firing Memberships: For access to the kilns and studio glazes. Firing fees apply only when you decide to finish your pieces. See firing fees for prices. Does not include access to communal studio and equipment. 4 month to 1 year membership available. Communal Studio Memberships: The “Rumpus Room” is equipped with pottery wheels, slab roller, extruder, wedging table, work tables and storage. Members in this category have a dedicated 2x4’ shelf for works in process as well as a cubby for clay and other supplies. Membership is limited to insure access to equipment. Materials are not included. 24-hour access. 2 month to 1 year memberships available. Private Studio Rental: $150-250/month depending on size and location. There are ten private studios that are rented on a monthly basis which includes 24-hour access and use of studio equipment and firing facilities. 1 year commitment.
